WHY THIS MATTERS
Reading depends on blending sounds smoothly and in the correct order.
When students can hold each sound and blend them together accurately, words stop feeling like guesses and start making sense.
Each lesson follows a repeatable routine:
We say each sound, keep the order, then blend to read the whole word.
Learners practise with guided examples and quick repeats to build automaticity and confidence.
The same sound routines are used throughout the unit to reduce cognitive load and support mastery.
